Sauser earns the accolade once more

UCF junior right-handed pitcher Matt Sauser has been recognized as the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.

This achievement marks the second time Sauser has received the honor since his performance against the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs in April 2025.

Despite the loss in a hard-fought 13-inning matchup against the No. 20 Miami Hurricanes on Feb. 17, Sauser delivered an adequate effort as he tossed six scoreless innings and six strikeouts.

The Knights were set to face the Jacksonville University Dolphins (8-1, 0-0 ASUN) on Tuesday, but the game has been postponed due to a facility issue with the stadium lighting system at John Sessions Stadium, according to UCF.

The matchup will be rescheduled for a future date, the article states.

UCF will play at home to host the University of South Florida Bulls (7-1, 0-0 AAC) in a three-day weekend series, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday at John Euliano Park.
