It’s a light schedule for Week 10 in the Big 12 with just five games on the docket on Saturday.
Texas Tech visits #12 Iowa State, which aims to remain unbeaten and get back into a first place tie in the conference. That one is at 3:30 on ESPN
Also at 3:30, Houston hosts #17 Kansas State which is tied for second in the conference. You can catch that matchup on FOX
Arizona State is at Oklahoma State, 7:00 on FS1
At 8:00, TCU battles Baylor on ESPN2
The teams on a bye this week are Kansas, Cincinnati, #9 BYU, #23 Colorado, Utah and West Virginia.
Meanwhile, the Space Game here in Orlando pits two teams on losing streaks so one of the teams will break theirs. Arizona has dropped 4 in a row and the Knights are on a five game skid. The certainties in life are death, taxes and UCF winning the Space Game…so don’t blow it Gus. Kickoff is at 3:30 on FS1
The players of the week are Colorado’s Heisman Candidate Travis Hunter on offense. He became the first player in conference history to win the weekly award on offense and defense after grabbing defensive honors in September. He had 9 catches for 153 yards and two touchdowns against Cincinnati. The defensive player of the week was Baylor’s Matt Jones with 12 tackles, 10 of the solo variety, 3 of them for a loss and a sack and forced fumble against Oklahoma State. On special teams, BYU kicker Will Ferrin had his first 3 field goal game against UCF and Kansas State’s Chris Tennant joins him as co-special teams player of the week with a 51 yard game winning field goal against Kansas.
And finally, the Big 12 Womens Soccer conference tournament is underway at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City. We will recap that for you next week.
