With all eyes in Knight Nation focused on the Dillon Gabriel Bowl, the other matchup featuring a ranked team in the Big 12 has #8 Texas visiting Houston. The Cougars were able to land a home game against the outgoing SEC Bound Longhorns before their Big 12 departure. This is an old Southwestern Conference rivalry in which they played annually from 1976 to 1995. Post SWC, they had a two for one arrangement between 2000 and 2002. Texas leads the all time series 16-7 and their have been two ties. Houston hopes to ride the momentum of their Hail Mary victory over West Virginia last week entering this matchup. This game will be a 4:00 kick Saturday on FOX.
The rest of the schedule on Saturday includes:
Baylor at Cincinnati, 12 Noon on ESPN+
West Virginia hosts Oklahoma State, 3:30 on ESPN
Texas Tech travels to BYU, 7:00 on FS1
Kansas State entertains TCU, 7:00 on ESPN2
As far as the Knights go with their High Noon kickoff with the 6th ranked Sooners on ABC, If JRP can play the whole way, I think the Knights will cover the high point spread. I have concerns when they say almost 100% with his health. I hope this is not a desperation move like playing him two weeks ago was. No matter what, Dillon Gabriel is poised to win against his former school.
