As we prepare to flip the calendar to 2026, join the Sons of UCF as we take a look back at the 2025 calendar year in UCF Sports. Here are the Top 5 interviews that appeared on the Sons of UCF. (Editors Note: We did not include media scrums or mass player events.)

Outside Looking In (OLI)

Here are the interviews that narrowly missed the Top 5:

Pete Sousa

The ESPN+ broadcaster and host of the eponymous YouTube show joined the Sons of UCF on September 4th, 2025, to preview the North Carolina A&T football game. Sousa was on the call for that game and shared some insights on his preparation and conversations in advance of the call.

Bryan Fischer

A senior writer for Sports Illustrated, Fischer joined the Sons of UCF on July 4, 2025, to review his published profile of Knights head coach Scott Frost that ran in June. Fischer spoke about Frost’s happiness to be back in Orlando and his long-term vision for the program. Notably, Fischer also shared some early insights on what Frost wanted to see from his offense.

Cade Kincaid

If that name doesn’t immediately ring a bell, it might be because you know him better as the West Virginia University Mountaineer mascot. Originally taped in July of 2025 at Big 12 Media Days, Kincaid spoke with Trace Trylko about what it is like to be the only mascot in the Big 12 who is allowed to talk.

The Top 5

Here are the best interviews from the Sons of UCF that ran in 2025:

5. Leger Douzable

The Varsity Knight alum and current ESPN and CBS broadcaster joined the Sons of UCF to preview the matchup against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in late November. Douzable provided some great insight on the play of quarterback Tayven Jackson and shared his thoughts on the results to date under Scott Frost. Douzable also offered some candid comments on the state of the football program from a former player’s perspective.

4. JB Long

The play-by-play voice for the Big 12 on TNT joined the Sons of UCF on October 22nd, 2025, fresh off his call of the Knights matchup with West Virginia. Long shared his impressions of a Knights team that beat WVU handily on the field, and celebrated homecoming festivities off the field. Long, who doubles as the radio voice of the NFL’s Los Angeles Rams, also had some interesting thoughts to share on Scott Frost’s time with the Rams organization.

3. National Media mashup

During the Big 12 Media event in Dallas, the Sons of UCF had the opportunity to catch up with several national college football writers and broadcasters to get their thoughts on the return of Scott Frost and the potential for the Knights in the Big 12. The published compilation video features interviews with Ross Dellenger (Yahoo Sports), Bruce Feldman (The Athletic), Andy Staples (On3 Sports), Brandon Marcello (CBS Sports), Devin Gardner (Fox Sports), and Shehan Jeyarajah (CBS Sports)

2. Andrea Adelson

The ESPN senior writer and Orlando native joined the Sons of UCF on May 23, 2025, to recap her recently published piece on Scott Frost’s return to UCF. Adelson shared some insight into Frost’s thoughts on the Nebraska years, why he is different now, and how he almost returned to UCF years earlier.

1. Mitch Sherman

In one of the first interviews the Sons conducted in 2025, The Athletic writer Mitch Sherman shared some insight on Frost’s tenure at Nebraska, specifically examining how things went wrong in Lincoln. As somebody who covered Frost closely while he was at Nebraska, Sherman also shared some reasons why UCF could be a better fit.
