You think you are a media company now? All fair questions, and frankly, ones that we have asked ourselves. To understand the answers to these questions, first you need to understand us.[/ultimate_heading][vc_column_text]Mike and I were high school friends, turned college roommates (shouts to Knights Crossing Phase III), turned reluctant adults. While many things changed throughout those years, one constant always intertwined our lives: UCF. The good old days of sweating it out in the Citrus Bowl and driving 45 minutes back to campus to find the party gave way to the realities of adulthood, where there were no parties, only families, responsibilities, and an occasional adult beverage. And UCF, there was always UCF. See, if you are reading this, then you understand. You have that friend, classmate, acquaintance, or whoever, that you can pick up the phone and no matter what is going on, there is always time to talk UCF. The Catch. The Hit. The Kick. Reservations for 6. They know what all of it means, both physically and emotionally. Those moments bond you for life.

With this in mind, one day I called Mike and basically told him we were starting a podcast about UCF. I didn’t ask him to join, I asked him what day he was available. He went along with this idea, presumably because he assumed it might be a one-time thing. Somehow, here we are 150-ish shows later, and Mike is still probably wondering how this happened. Frankly, so am I, because the odds certainly weren’t in our favor. Mike and I have no experience in “media” or anything even close to it. For all I knew, an RSS feed was another boring GOL-era fullback running play. As it turned out though, our naivety is what makes what we do, work. We aren’t trying to be your typical media guys. Sure, we’ll talk about news and serious stuff when needed, but our show is really about us – two middle aged dudes yapping about the glory days of UCF sports and trying to hear some cool stories.

Now, almost three years since our first show we look back and realize that we’ve been blessed to talk to some of the greatest Knights of all time – Latavius Murray, Matt Prater, Shawn Jefferson, and even GOL himself, twice. We’ve recapped some of the biggest moments in UCF history, including a LIVE sit-down with Ryan Schneider, Tyson Hinshaw, Javier Borlegui, and Coach Mike Kruczek to remember the 20-year anniversary of the win over Alabama. Oh, and recent Knight greats, like Tre Nixon, Otis Anderson, Marlon Williams, and Greg McCrae, well, we’ve had them on too.

Then one day Mike suggested we do a LIVE pre-game show before football games. Somehow we pulled that off, and with the addition of Trace Trylko, The Sons of UCF LIVE was born. After a successful football season, we decided to keep the fun going, and now SOUL airs LIVE weekly on social media platforms. If it is news of the day, poll questions, guests, and hijinks, that you want, then SOUL has you covered.

Which brings us back to 2KnightsMedia. So, what is it exactly? Honestly, we don’t even know yet. Our only goal is to continue to evolve what we are doing to reach more people, and hopefully give them the same connection that this show gave me and Mike. Because that is what this thing is all about for us – sports, laughter, and friendship.

While we work on all of that, just know that this will be a place where you can find quality content, including our podcasts, LIVE shows, and You Tube channel. It will also feature a new written component (which you are enjoying now) where you will find all sorts of diverse stuff, including essays, game stories, long form pieces, blog entries, and heck if I know what else. Maybe down the road there will be other shows, new voices, and even new ideas, but we have plenty of time for all of that. In the meantime, bookmark this page, and check back regularly for more stuff.

Now, sit back and enjoy the show.

Charge On!
